Science belongs to everyone
Welcome/Bienvenidxs!
The Planetary Laboratory Analyzing Environments, Terrains, and Analogs (PLANETAS) is a research group at the Georgia Institute of Technology, led by Dr. Frances Rivera-Hernández! Broadly, our research is dedicated to understanding planetary surface processes and environments (modern and ancient) as recorded in sedimentary deposits and landforms. Our research is interdisciplinary, commonly integrating remote sensing, field and lab analog studies, and numerical analyses.
The PLANETAS group is in the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, and contributes to Georgia Tech’s diverse and interdisciplinary space science and astrobiology communities. If you are interested in joining the PLANETAS research group, please check out available opportunities here.
***Our group values diverse perspectives and identities and is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and constructive environment for all members.***
